Default to keep or not to keep

ok all tomorrow im going to take that heavy *** old clutch fan off and install 2 16 in electric fans... my question is has anyone tried to keep the stock fan sharud(i know i cant spell)i would rather not have to make brackets or buy universal bottles??? so willl the stock set up work or will it cause too much turbalance... was thinking about either two fans side by side or one pulling and one pushing

I have a 97 Ram 1500, 5.2. I am still using my fan shroud. I actually found a junked fan unit that fit inside the end of the shroud and just bolted the fan directly to the shroud. Been running this setup for two years now, no problems. I do however have a 180 degree thermo installed. Temp runs about 180-190. I forget what type of car I got the fan off of.

Here's what I did,

I put my fan, clutch, and shroud up in the attic. I drilled a hole in the top flange of the wahser bottle and zip tied the bottom and the radiator bottle with heavy duty home air duct zip ties I found at the Home Depot. I put one fan on the front (pusher) to cool the A/C quickly and one on the back (puller) to cool the rad.

Works great, just make sure you go at least 3500 CFM or 4000 CFMtotal if you tow.
