I have a 2001 Ram 5.2 Quad Cab. I was wondering how I could lower it. What do I need to buy. I'm not cheap and would like to do a quality job. I saw a Silverado lowered and custom painted.I sure thought that was one sweet truck. So,,, how do I make a ground pounder outta my Rammie?????

is yours 2wd or 4wd? that alone will make the biggest difference when it comes to lowering.
4wd's are a lot more involved to lower, 2wd's are easy

could try that^^^ but it says only up to 2000 dodge rams. i don't think anything changed between 00-01 though.
edit: and by the way, THANK GOD your truck is a 2wd. if i see another lowered 4wd truck i may have to beat someone down with a tire iron

Record Breaker
I did one back in 98. We used bell tech drop spindles with the stock springs and a relocation kit for the rear springs.
It wasn't slammed but it was low and mean. Ride quality was really goodtoo.
I would stay away from those kits that just use shorter springs up front. They really mess with the alignment. Unless your on a budget...

It depends on how low you want to go. There is a 4/6 kit that you can get for a little over a grand from what I have seen.It involves C-notching the rear frame and a flip kit for the rear and control arms and coilsprings for the front. And also a trans. cross member that doesn't drop downas far as the stockone to help from bottoming out.Or DJM has a 2/4 drop that uses front drop coils and rear shakle/hanger kit. Its good for a modest drop. Im looking into getting a 2/4 myself since I pull my 4wheeler around. Hope this helps. any questions just ask.
I say if you want to go low, then airbag it. You will be as low or high as you want with the flick of a switch. I also concur with Olsen... Thank God you are not wasting a 4x4

If ANYONE else is going to lower a 4wd... trade me the four wheel drive setup for my 2wd stuff...[sm=smiley20.gif]ORIGINAL: OlsenG_360

If any of you decide to swap out your shackles in the rear to get part of your slam, please let me know as I will buy your stock shackles.
