powerwindow malfunction
I don't know if anybody could help me on this, but any information would be helpful. I have a 2000 ram 1500 v-8 5.9 360 1/2ton truck and my drivers side window doesn't operate normally until I close the door. When I open and shut the door it's start to work okay, but now it's getting to the point that doesn't want to work at all. I can't tell if it's my switch or my window motor.
on the same note....my drivers side window goes down smooth but when it goes up,it gets about half way and starts stuttering(for lack of a better term).itll make it all the way up,just that half way point where its like jumpin,or vibrating if you will.
anyone experience this?
thanx

Sounds like a bad wire to me, although I've had some really aggrevating experiences with window switches as well. Try to find somebody with a DC manual for your year truck. They have a continuity check for the switch that's a money saver.

k...ill do this tomorrow.
im a big fan of lith grease.that and silicone spray.if i have a squeak,ill shoot some slicone(dont hurt rubber)on a bushing,if the squeak stops...ive found my culprit.
does a loose track mean a new one or can they be tightened up?

I'm not sure how the tracks are attached on these newer Rams, but I'm sure you'd be be able to tighten it up one way or another. If's it's attached with bolts, then that's simple enough, but if it's attached by rivits you'd have to drill the loose rivit out an replace it with either another rivit or a bolt.
