This symptom JUST started, and there previously was no code.

All the other stuff that I have done was an attempt to get the truck to tow correctly, as its been severely underpowered. The power issue was determined to be a leaking plenum in another post, but I guess its possible its been this issue that hasnt really manifested itself until now.

I bet your cat is plugged. Go to a muffler shop and have it pressure tested.

The cat was indeed plugged, thats why I replaced it.
First sentence in the original thread.
Thanks for trying though, keep em coming.

OK, didn't see that. If the cat was plugged, that means the O2 sensors are most likely bad. They should be changed every 65K miles anyway.

Check the oil. A while ago when I changed my oil my truck was shaking a bit when idling. After changing it the problem went away. If your oil is a bit low then that may explain it. For some reason when I changed my oil only 2.5 qts came out when I put 5 in.

I noticed my check engine light was flashing repeatedly one day when I was driving it. I guess it was trying to tell me something.

A flashing Check Engine light means you have a misfire. One particular cause for a misfire is a clogged cat. Been there, done that, have the T-shirt and the DVD.

Did you replace the cat, or run a system without one?

Wow, a bunch of replies and no email notification!

I agree O2 sensors are probably bad, will replace them as soon as I can afford it, was planning on doing that with the plenum gasket fix.

Oil was changed 2 weeks ago and checked last week, I will double check but I dont think thats it.

My engine light is not flashing, just solid on.

I did replace the cat, and am not running without one.

Called Kragen, they do not let you use their ODBII scanners. Autozone will let you "rent" them for $160 (roughly) and then refund the full amount upon return. They had to do that in California because the mechanics got pissed off that they were checking codes for people.

1st, test the 02 sensor(s) before spending any money on them. Check out this link http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/ecms...O2sensors.html. And try cleaning with electronic parts cleaner. How many tanks of gas since this started. Bad gas? Water in fuel? Contaminated tank? Anything is possible.

Just bought some of that electronic parts cleaner to try and clean off the sensors, and picked up a code reader.

A code P0308 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
[ul][*]Faulty spark plug or wire[*]Faulty coil (pack)[*]Faulty oxygen sensor(s)[*]Faulty fuel injector[*]Burned exhaust valve[*]Faulty catalytic converter(s)[*]Running out of fuel[*]Poor compression[*]Defective computer [/ul]

Im gonna replace my track bar and stabilizer links tonight, once thats done everything else should be cool enough for me to play around with.

The link you posted is dead, or at least for me.

Oh yeah, using premium gas on this tank, and roughly 3/4 of the way through it when the problem started.
