Default Wanna see tranny destruction?

This is what happens when you power brake and kill your new 2007 Dodge 2500 w/ 5.7
has 10,800 miles on it...
threw like 9 codes including "accelerator pedal and brake pedal rationality" - Environmental data says...
brake and gas was being pushed at same time... - power braking...

anddddd..... I AM STUCK FIXING IT
i am going to probably just 70% it and get a whole reman unit to bolt back in instead of wasting time and rebuilding it and replcing every part...

took it out and apart today...

.that big black blob... is fluid... burnt... stunk up entire shop... it is supposed to be bright red/pink

disgusting...

one of the worst i have ever seen

im going to check cooler lines tomorrow and see if it had became blocked and caused all of this destruction...
all the little black dots are pieces of the torque converter innards...
the plate that covers the front oil pump in tranny is supposed to be steel colored...
yeah it is blue and gold... - = HOTT as HELL... haha

-please dont power brake your trucks too much...

Did mother Mopar say no to the warranty since it threw the rationality codes.. Kinda gives the customers the deer in the headlights look when you show them the freeze frame data and say: "This was where you had the brake and gas pushed at the same time. So I find it HIGHLY unlikely that you were just going down the road when it happened."At least that is what the customers try to tell me when they do stuff like that.

haven't gotten 100% approval yet for the 70% replacement yet... i am still completely dissassembling it and basically i can just quote .. hmm let me think.. EVERYTHING that was in there cause of the high temps. it got up to in there... could have warped anything

they more than likely are gonig to approve the warranty claim because the cust. COULD say something like " oh yeah, well i was pulling my boat out of the water... didn't want to coast backwards... "

whatever... you know... thats how it is sometimes...
im going to check cooler lines tomorrow also to see if it contributed...

That sucks... sorry to hear of the carnage.

This is a 2007 right... did you buy it under the "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" program?

I haven't read all the warranty exclusions, etc - but I don't really think they have a leg to stand on to deny a warranty replacement. Personally, I would keep pushing them until they agreed to replace it under warranty - especially if it is under the lifetime powertrain warranty. If they still stonewall you...threaten to make a big stink about it. Tell them you will send letter to the editor of your local papers regardingDodge's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is a sales scheme and not really honored. Hell... some of the TV news programs in my area would love to get a juicy story like that for their little consumer protection reports they do.

I know - some people might think it's not needed to drag this out in public. But I say Dodge has made a commitment to it's customers, and if they do not intend to honor such warranties - it needs to be made known to the public.

Good luck. I hope you stick it to the bastards at the stealership.

Ummm.... XL1500 is a tech at the dealership. It's not his truck he's working on. [sm=wakeup.gif]
