96 Dodge 5.9L engine info?
I just bought a 96 Ram. This is my first Ram and I haven't driven a Dodge since about 1990.
Once I got into doing a tune-up on it today I pulled the air cleaner and noticed what looks like a carb.
Are these engines "1996" carberated, or is it some sort of tune port system like some of the older chevy's have? Sorry for the dumb question.

Where are the fuel injectors? I did not see a fuel rail or anything that resembles an EFI system that I have seen working on other vehicles.
Can anyone post a pic of thier engine compartment or elaberate on the system? Thanks for your help!

Injectors are located in each of the intake runners of the intake manifold. The carb looking thing is a throttle body as previously stated. It controls the amount of air entering the engine. You should see a tube on each side of the inatke manifold that is the fuel rail and sits on top of each of the fuel injectors.
welcome to DF... there is a manual available to download tacked to the top of the forum in the dodge DIY or info thread... I forget which one it's in. it's for a 2000 but the motor is basiclly the same with the exception of yours might have an egr setup. I think they got rid of that in '97. anyways, it's worth having.
