MSD wire question
So I just went out and bought a set of autolte 3923's and a set of MSD 8.5 ignition wires and little did I know when picking up the set of wires, I have to crimp the conectors on myself. Being new to the whole "do it yourself" world of truck mechanic's, I have no idea what the three different types of boots are for that the box comes with. There's two big boots with MSD ignition written on the back, 9 with a funny plug looking deal at the 90 angel joint, and 8 of these small boots. Can anyone with any experience or knowledge on MSD wires help me out?
The long tubular boots go on the spark plug side of the plug wires the smaller 90* plugs go on the distributor side of the plug wires, andthe two large 90* boots are for the coil wire to the distributor, but theside that goes on top of the distributor may take one of the smaller 90* plugs or the largerwhich is why you have a spare left.
You'll need a crimping tool to get them tight. If the wires are pre-cut, then just pull the old wires off your truck and measure them against the new ones. If not, just measure against the old wire and cut yourself.
Label the old wires with masking tape and a sharpie and put the cylinder number on each of them before you take them off, the cylinder numbers are on the intake manifold just above each plug. Then when you measure each new wire, label the new wires as well so you can reconnect them easier without having to guess
The firing order for the distributor cap is on the top front on the intake manifold facing theradiator, find the raised #1on the distributor cap and follow the firing order around clockwise.

TAKE 'EM BACK!
Sorry to be so blunt, but you can get any number of make or manufacture wires that have ready made OEM ends on them. Not worth the hassle or possible bad connections.

Well I was just jumping on to say to regard my stupid question because the smartest thought I've had all day popped in my head which was to go out there and look what the boots were on the truck already. So needless to say, I found the answer out for myself a few minutes ago,
Well I had to return the universal kit I bought because saturday afternoon, when I finally desided it was time to get to work, I found out that all wires that go to the plugs were way to long and the wire that went form the distributor to the coil was way to short. So I returned the kit, got my money back and for 20 bucks less then what shucks sold the universal kit for, I found the custome kit for my truck on summit. So on tuesday I found have my new wires and I should have my new plugs, wires, and electric fans installed on saturday.
+1 @ take em back, get the custom fit ones. They look 10,000 times better imo.

speaking of MSD products, do any of you have an MSD ignition package in your truck, i mean the spark box and all, not just wires, if so does it help performance and bang for the buck? I was thinking an MSD package would boost initial take off performance in my truck like it does with smaller cars
