Default 2001 rear bumper

Any of you guys know where I can get a black rear bumper? My trucks rear bumper when I bought the truck has two big dents in it, along with some white paint on it. Bodyshops keeps quoting me $390 for one, and no salage yards have it around here. The only one I can find reasonably priced is on autopartswarehouse.com....any other suggesstions fellas?? I want the one that's black with the plastic on the top,

Too bad you are on the wrong side of the country, I want to remove mine and install a roll pan in its place. I just happen to have a black 1999 sport with matching rear bumper.

Aww no way! How much do you think it'd cost to send it here hypothetically?

More than it would be worth doing. It would have to be shipped oversize and would probably cost more than a new bumper would cost locally.

Are they too bad that they couldn't just be popped out and repainted? I have a pretty small dent in my rear bumper and a little bit of rust spots on mine and am getting quoted around $175 to get it popped out, sanded down, and repainted. Possibly an option.

Hmm...you make a good point. Yeah it has a little bit of rust towards the bottom. And then two dents. And then some white paint scattered near the liscense plate holder. It's definately something I'll ask my bodyshop about monday. I hadnt really thought about that option. Anything under $200 I'd be willing to do, it'd be a lot cheaper than buying one.

Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do. It would be about the same as getting a roll pan bought, painted, and installed, but that takes away from the functionality of the rear bumper and the little added safety of the bumper. I like the roll pan look, but I think I"m just going to get the dent popped out and repainted. Hopefully someone can give you a good deal on that option.

I thought about the rollpan idea as well, but I don't know, I just think they are silly to put on a truck thats used for work. Maybe if its like a street struck or f the truck doesnt have a reese hitch, but other than that, it's just kind of silly. My brother put a rollpan on his F-350 after he got hit from the rear, and I don't know, it looks good, but it's kind of weird because his reese hitch is completely exposed (granted we had his hitch painted black like the truck to make it mesh as best we could). I will say its a lot better than his stock bumper, ford didnt have a good rear bumper design during those models, they sagged a lot in the butt. Anyways, unless a truck isnt used for work or if you dont have a reese hitch, i think it looks silly. Also, like you mentioned, you loose a lot of safety with one. I thnk a clean and fixed rear stock bumper is much more appealing than a rollpan to be honest anyways.

They make a hitch called ahidden hitch. Itmounts up higher, kind of in between the fram rails. The receiver is accessable through a fold down license plate. I know the post is about a black bumper, I just wanted to let everyone know that you can still have a hitchand a roll pan.

Thank You. But aren't most hidden hitch systems not nearly as poweful as they should be? The hitch I have no is a 10,000 pound rated hitch, so I would want to have a hidden hitch unless it could match that ya know?
