6x9 are what comes stock in the front doors. If you don't want to replace them with 6x9 you can get an adapter plate that will fit a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2. I just went with another set of 6x9s in mine.

most of the places you go to buy speakers will havean application guide that will tell you what size of speaker you need. I know Wally World and Best Buy do.

Yeah, I have a great site for you for great prices and a nice fitment guide.

www.sonicelectronix.com

These guys have good prices, a fitment guide to help you with just about any car and they will beat any price. I bought my 6x9 and 5 1/4 from these guys and I'm really happy with them! Unfortunetly the guys who installed them screwed up on the rear speakers so they rattle. Little advise for the rears, should you get something that bumps, put some weather stripping on the bottom side of the speaker before you install it, and (especially for the rear) use 4 screws. Dodge stock only uses 2. As for the front, if you get anything with a huge magnet, like I did, you will need a 6x9 riser. Usually shops will give you one, sometimes (if they are jerks) they will charge you.

I bought these for the Front

And these for the rear
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ahn+AS50V.html

And Yeah, they kick butt! Best part.....Didn't have to modify the door panels at all!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I have a 2000 Ram 1500 Extended cab.
