I'm buying a 2/4 DJM drop kit tomorrow for my 2001 Dodge Ram single cab. Do I have to replace my shocks? Should I? If so.... What would be the best brand to get?

 

what kit? if spindles are used on the front then no. on the rear i think its a shackle+hanger setup. i would say yes, because 4" is a lot for your stock shock to collapse and still function. will it work ? yes. will it ride right? probablly not.

i should add that i have been a chevy and ford owner for the past 20yrs, this is my first dodge truck. however i think the suspension set-up still remains(relatively)the same.

 

Im using 2" coils in th front and 4" shackle and hanger kit in the rear.
