working on 1997 ram 1500 4x4 looking for anyone with a schematic or a link to a schematic for the wiring diagrams for the hvac controls backlighting. i checked the 4 mini bulbs already and they seems ok which is wat leads me to think either wiring or complete control assy. any help will be most appreciated thanks for the help

I don't have a wire diagram however simple solution take a test light and start checking the harness with the parking light s on and off you should be able to see a difference unless that is what is broke. My guess if the truck has not sustained any heavy water damage it is time for a new control assembly.

 

i tried that and i had a couple wires that were hot. i guess my real problem is i really dont know which ones are supposed to be hot and which are supposed to be ground. it is my buddy's truck and i dont believe it has ever had any water damage to any degree but that was what i was thinking. i just wanted to be certain before i condemn the control assy.
