Now what would that bracket do? Would I need a new trackbar in order to get that? Also, I beleive Skyjacker's trackbar kit comes with a bracket as well, but everyone seems to think skyjacker is junk?

If your going with the Thuren bar, then do what they recommend. That way, if it turns out not to work, you can tell them that you followed their advice, and it was the wrong part. They should then offer up the correct part to make things right. That might be some of the pains you have to go through when you try to piece things together like this. Might take some experimenting and trying a few parts until you get it all to work together correctly.

FYI, maybe I missed it in you previous posts, but are you paying for install of the track bar, even if you buy it seperatly? It is pretty easy, you could do it yourself and really save some $$$. Here's the install instructions (for the 0-3" bar, and the 5"+ bar) from the Thuren website:

Didn't realize how straight forward it was, I will try it myself first. But back to the trackbar. Silver, I agree with you, I'll just buy what he thinks will do. If it doesn't work, it wont be too big of a deal considering both trackbars are the same price. He is confident it will work though...excitment lol.I am going to buy it tomorrow. The only thing that sucks is he says it's going to take about 2 weeks for him to send it out (sadness prevails). It's worth the wait though.

I agree that the 0-3" bar will work. Like Thuren says "If the stock bar has the steering close to straight, the 0-3" bar will work" The bar is just a replacement of what you already have with the ability to adjust. I just replaced my trackbar with a DT Pro Fab myself and it was a snap, really. I was a bit intimidated but it really is pretty simple if you have the right tools. If you know where the pitman is, have a look at it while someone is turning the wheel from the cab...have a look at everything in the steering. If it looks like the parts are getting close or at radical angles you should be able to make your own call. Good luck!

That sounds fantastic. What were some things you experienced with the handeling overall once you installed the trackbar? Did you notice a big differance in the steering wheel? Also, did you get an allignment after you had that done?

ALWAYS get an alignment done after you change out or mess with steering or suspension related components. Some suspension stuff wont matter but that usually pertains to the rear end. Front end, you change a part, unless it is identical to what you are replacing, go get an alignment. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for the tip, I'll make sure to get it asap after the trackbar is in.

My steering had alot of play at the wheel and steering wander. Alignment shop said I needed a new trackbar so I upgraded. The steering is alot tighter now...more reaction when I move the wheel where as before I would keep turning the wheel ever so slightly until I got the turn and then it would oversteer so I was constantly back and fourth at the wheel to stay between the lines. Now it's better but still has an aggressive steering issue which is something I'm asking around about in the CTD forum. You'll have to get the axel centered and an alignment when you're done.

It's not exactly dangerous per se...just more comfortable, less stressfull and less wear on your tires so have a proper alignment done. The track bar will probablycome withinstructions on how to center the axel if you wanna give it a shot but I had a hard time tightening the jamnuts on the trackbar so I let the pro's do it. You can find info on the net about how to align the front end aswell and I think I have some links if you're interested but if it's in the rack to center the axel midaswell have them align it.

So the trackbar does center the axle as well though right? Im really excited to get this done. I too have been suffering from the hard pull and the wandering steering. Im constantly (as subconcious as its become) correcting the steering to remain within the lines like you said. I'm also sick about it because it's just eating my mud tires even mroe than they already do themselves. It's going to be nice when the axle is centered back and I can get that wanted allignment, should really increase the enjoyablity of the truck even more so!
