Hello
I have a beautiful Off Road dodge 1500 5.9 slt laramie that I drive to and from school and work. I live in alaska and need to transfer from 2wd to 4wd and back frequently. since I bought this truck (3months ago) I have had problems trying to put the case into 4 wheel drive. Sometimes its really smooth and other times I hear grinding and have to back off and try again. do any of you have this problem? I think the grinding corresponds to a cold engine, but other times (when its 29 degrees F) it shifts fine. Am I doing anything wrong? I shift at lower speeds (below 40mph) and only after taking my foot off the pedal. I did change the fluid a month ago to the correct fluid, since some dumbass put ATF in it. Is this normal. I wish I had and 02 with the push button.
