I highly doubt taking a piece of plastic off the bottom of your front bumper will make your hood shake let alone make any kind of difference in the handeling of the truck what so ever. Mine is cracked up pretty good from hitting a deer, didnt do a thing to the truckas far as handleing or mileage. I know people that have them off all together, on their trucks,no difference.

It's probably just the hood latch going out or it wasn't shut all the way in the first place.

Those pieces of black plastic 'lawn edging'
are so cheap and work so well as a 'bottom'
to the air dam
that automakers like Dodge
ought to design factory air dams
that are shorter and rely on a piece of lawn edging plastic
to make up the removeable bottom in a way that it can
easily be removed & reinstalled later for off-road driving
and cheaply repaired by the owner if damaged.
