Default SCT Tuner...

Does anybody have any input on the SCT tuners? I just ran across these and they seem to be a good thing, but I would like to hear from actual end users on how these things have improved their trucks. I've seen the videos from KRC Performance on you-tube and I've done a little searching for where to buy them, but I want a little more input first. If they are as good as I hope they are, maybe a group buy is in order for better pricing...

Thanks, I will. I've also seen another product called "SMT6" as a piggy back tunable control setup. Anyone know about this as well?

the sct tuners are amazing, absolutely amazing. it finally gives us the oppertunity to dyno tune our trucks. (all obd2 rwd v8 trucks atleast) im sure you can immagine the advantages of that over a mail order pcm tune.

It's nice to see a proper tuning product come out for the Magnum V8 motors... Unless you're running a radical combo that needs something better than the OEM PCM ASAP, I'd wait a couple of months and see how things pan out. A number of people withbig setups (408, 360+SC, etc) are toying with the software right now and should be able to provide some good advice for tuning parameters later on.

It probably would be best for me to wait a bit. I have recently made all of these changes to my truck and of coarse after spending the money and time doing them, I want the most I can get out of them. (Everything in my signature has been done w/in the last month.) The truck performs much better than it did, and, maybe I'm expecting too much, but I thought the change in performance would be a bit more radical than it has been. I think the computer is still adjusting to the mods as well so it may get better yet. I just don't want to be doing all of this half-a**ed by not reprogramming the computer for getting the optimum performance. It will be another sizable expense and I want to make sure the money is spent on the best reasonable option and not just something that would "work". The SCT Tuner appears to be a great thing to have by allowing 3 different tuning perameters to choose from that are based on my specific mods and also having the option later to upgrade programming for any changes later. This unit would also be able to read any diagnostics so I wouldn't have to buy a separate OBD-II code reader for more indepth knowledge of CEL issues.

Bottom line is...I want to know that what I end up getting was the best I could do with the money I have. I hate to jump into buying things without researching first and end up regretting that decision. I appreciate everyone's input.

and do you have the 5.2 or 5.9....with having a "fat" truck and a smaller motor...he is running faster than you with more weight and less motor. and why? because you can...he is out to prove what the 4.7 can do

im not knocking his abilities, dont get me wrong. Im just sayin why mod a 4.7 in a quad cab enough to do that? Im going to take a shot in the dark here and assume that whatever was done to that truck, if you do similar mods to a 5.9 rc/sb it would go much faster. Thats just my guess. obviously theres the because you can, but if your going to build something to race, why shoot yourself in the leg by having a small motor and a heavy truck. thats all im sayin. thats just stupid to say because you can, if you bought something that your gonna race, really, why do it that way? thats like saying i bought a 327 camaro to drag race, ill eventually mod it to get the power of a 427. it just makes no sense imo. you should know, you are running a 6.7L why? because a 5.9 wouldnt suffice.

well i got an email and this is what they said...
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, my e-mail has been down. Yes your vehicle should be supported. I would need the part number off your PCM to make sure. There's a lot that can be done, over 400 different paremeters can be modified....

ill be sending them the info for my PCM , LOOKING GOOD SO FAR..
