Default Anyone ever make their own O2 Sim?

Hey all, had some cat problems so I yanked it and welded in some exhaust tubing running from 3" down to 2.5" where the cat used to be. I'm looking into options on an O2 Sim for my rear sensor. I've seen Dan's site with the $75 sim, but am looking for something cheaper.

I have found some universal ones for around $40 and could easily wire those into the stock plug, but was wondering if anyone had tried building their own. I found one wiring diagram here:
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/oxy...sor_simulator/

Just wondering if anyone had tried it before.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to as soon as I gut my cat. It's pretty simple all of the parts you can get from Radio Shack for under 10$

Yeah, I might pick up the parts today and try it.

let me know how it works out and if you have any problems with it let me know. I kinda know a thing or two about electronics.

Ok, so I assembled the box per the instructions on the page in my first post. It tests good when I hook it to a battery to test the function.

I'm wondering, instead of splicing up near the PCM connector as described in the instructions, if I could splice it into the wiring near the downstream sensor. Anyone know which wire on the 4 plug setup is the output wire?

Only had a single cat, 2 sensors. I'm trying to tap into the downstream (obviously) to trick it into thinking the cat is efficient (despite it being missing). I'm just unsure which wire is for the oxygen sensor's output that the sim is supposed to emmulate.

My truck is the two cat version. So, I'm not sure which wire you need to splice into. The service manual will tell you wich wire to use. If you don't already have the service manual do a search on this forum for Merry Christmas and you'll find it.

Ok, after doing some searching I came up with this:

Do I want the Sensor signal or the sensor signal control for my Sim's output wire? It would seem to me that I'd want the Control judging by the electrical path, but I could be wrong.. still learning when it comes to wiring.
