Default MSD FEEDBACK WANTED:

Im thinking of getting an msd ignition. I've done fipk, fastman tb, high flow cats, and 7.5mm performace mopar wires.

Are you guys running a msd 6a or 6al?
with a new coil and wires?... different plugs?... etc

Let me know your set-up as far as the ignition goes.[&:]

Right now I'm just running autolite 3923's and 8.5 MSD wires but on tuesday I'll be adding the MSD blaster 3 coil to the mix. I would think about adding the box to the mix but here in a few months I'm going to have to bed my truck down (pretty much) for 2 years because I'm going out of country and cannot take my truck with me sadly.

had the off road version of the 6a box, ate up an Acell cap & rotor faster than the mopar ones. used the MSD 8.5's with autolite 3923's. smoothed out the idle some and seemed to give it a tad bit more low end torque. mpg... well at it's peak, I could get 14.5~15 hiway easily. around town 12's

im buying the 6a box this week, and need to know if my mopar performance 7.5mm will hold up, or if i should go bigger.
I need a new cap and rotor but have been putting it off because of its ****ty location. Are the brass ones still good with the msd setup?

go with the mopar cap & rotor... the wires should be fine. count on a cap & rotor swap about every 25~30k miles.

I'd still suggest the mopar cap & rotor... when I had the accel parts on there, they did not last as long as the mopar ones and I could not tell any difference in performance.
