Default stick to auto conversion

What is all involved into converting a 95 ram 1500 2WD from a 5spd to a auto trans. I like having a stick but the trans is crap and its a PIA to localize a good one affordably priced. I have done conversions on old school muscle cars I use to restore. Just curious what all I need for the swap if feasible.. Auto trans, run trans lines, stereing column. anything else. Thanks all.

To go from a man to an auto you'll the computer from an auto since its computer shifted and such.

Kinda suck ssince going from auto to man you don't have to change anything. The plugs from the trans might already be on yor truck too, just obvously not being used.

the only shifting that is actuated by the PCM on the (94-95) 46RH is 3-4 and torque converter clutch lock-up
u'll HAVE TO HAVE
tranny assembly w/ torque converter-i recommend replacing with a reman/new one, cooler lines, Computer from donor truck, flex plate, wiring harness, crossmember with mount
MAYBE HAVE TO HAVE
entire harness from engine and tranny-more than likely
both front and rear drive shafts
steering column w/ all linkage if you dont want to put in an aftermarket shifter in floor.
i will probably remember more later.
Good Luck !!

i say keep the manual... rebuild it its is not hard at all

i would totally stick with a manual! if u dont know anythign about dodge auto trannys. there ****ing garbage! just have it rebuilt it should cost u that much and would be alot cheaper. if ur dead set on swaping an auto in. go on pavementsucks.com. im sure u may find someone that would be willing to completely swap with u for everything. hell i would but i already got a stick

ur gunna need a new pcm, the wiring harness is different, driveshaft lengths are different, t case is different along with all the stuff XXL 1500 mentioned

Would the t-case need to be changed? What spline are they for man and auto? And I'm sure the bolt pattern is the same, or is it not? I assumed it'd all bolt right in more or less. My buddy did it on his XJ and it was a straight bolt in, just had to jump the park/neutral switch like I said.

The Dodge 1/2 ton t-case (NV231D) is the same on a manual or an auto. They both have 23 spline outputs (the t-case has a 23 spline input).
