Default Header Install *pics*

Iknow its pretty easy but figured I'd post this up here. i knew there was a guy asking about it a few weeks ago and I told him I'd post a little walk through.

Just as some infoI weighed the headers together the stockers weighed 30.5 lbs the new ones were only about 16.5 so besides better flow its a good bit of weight reduction

For the most part they are easy to install.

Remove the bolts (this is 1 tricky part, some are hard to get too and they like to snap)Also the collecter bolts have a clamp thing thats usless if its suppose to keep them from turning it don't work

Clean the mounting surface

Install the new ones (another tricky part, some of the bolts have about no room to mess with because of the pipes bending right at the hole. and you can't get tools in there to work on them. The one bolt i had to use a wrench and i had to turn it over after every very very very small turn)

Bolt up the collectors

As I said the bolts like to snap we snaped off one in my head. I guess we're gonna try to get it out tomorrow. I didn't get any finished pics cause it was dark by the time I got the driver side on. Then whenI fired it upwe found out the collecter wasn't no where close to being connected to the pipe.

Before

After stockers were removed. You can see the snaped bolt in the pics

And heres the vid of the first fire up. Its all black cause it was dark but you can hear how it sounded

I'll update this tomorrow with the after pics and a vid of how it sounds when the leak is fixed

As far as the SOTP feels like it jumps a little faster from a dig which is whatI wanted. I'm happy with them except for the smell of the paint burning off lol

no,no, and no. They came painted but it says right on them its not high heat paint Why they would paint them and not use high heat paint is beyond me. i didn't realize the sticker said NOT high heat tillyesterday and by then it was too late to paint them cause the stockers were off. Also is was pretty damn cold yesterday so it prolly wouldn't have held well anyway and after talking to my bro in law today about it if you paint over the paint they use which isn't high heat after it burns up the paint i would have sprayed on it would have came off as well we figure. The heat shields wern't a problem at all hell we only pulled 2 of the spark plug wires off to get them out of the way. I had to hold a couple of the other wires up a slight bitto wrench on the one bolt but it wasn't that big of a deal

Man, maybe it's just the picture angle, but spark plug wires 5 and 7 on the driver's side look really close to the header, pull those suckers tighter into the loom or you'll be replacing'em shortly, and have one hell of a ride to boot.
