Which transmission do I have?
1995 Ram 1500 5.2 5 speed 4x4. I can't find an I.D. tag on my trans.and I need to know if it's an NV3500 or NV 4500. I bought the truck used and the previous owner isn' t much help. I want to change the trans. oil but don't yet know what type to use untill i know which transmission I have. Can anyone please tell me how I can tell the difference between these two transmissions? Thanks to all.

Should take a couple of days and you will get the build sheet for your truck. It's nice to have for future reference.

if itys a 5.2 itll have a NV3500 all 3.9, 5.2 had them the 2500's are the only ones that came with ither the NV3500 or the NV4500 but the NV3500 in the 2500's had a diffrent gear ratio
