rear u-joint will not come out!
i was going to replace the u-joints on the rear drive shaft. I cannot get the rear u-joint to hammer out. I believe its rusted solid. Any suggestions! I havent tried the front on yet...
Try pressing them out with a ball joint press.
Also heat may help from a torch. You say "hammer" them out, but I don't think I have ever seen them come out any other way than to press them out.
Good luck to you.

i had a lot of trouble with mine because prev owner had scarrred/gouged the yoke that the cup presses through. i used a dremel tool with the sanding disk to clean it up some. if you do this, don't get carried away, as you need to maintain a press fit. other suggestions. lots of wd40 or penetrating oil, use a big vise as a press. also, up until the cap gets flush with the yoke - get a more solid pounding surface and a bigger hammer. once you get it to move to where its flush against the yoke, put a slightly bigger socket the cup. if all else fails, take it somewhere with a press and get them to push it out.
when i do my front axle ones, i take the axles out go down to the sreet to a shop give them the axles and new u-joints i want in and in about 10 min they hand me the axles with then new u-joints in them....i did it once it sucked (and because they wore out so quick i was sure i did something wrong but i have come to find that they just dont last) so for $5 ea i just save myself the headech and let them do it with all the right tools...i even get a coffee out of it while i wate lol
its stuck in the yoke right?
find an big impact socket that just fits inside the yoke on top of the u joint bearing cap.
secure the shaft on a tble or ground giving clearence for the joint to move below.
carefully line up the impact socket on top of the join cap. now WHACK it like itsfighting back!
