Default Finding the right ratio

im troubled on what gears i should put in my truck 96 1500 318 auto 245/75/16 tires, the stock 3.55 suck a** i cant even pull hills in overdrive unloaded down the highway goin 55. Im thinkin 4.10 but 4.56 would really kick it in the butt, any suggestions??? anybody else have this problem to?

its a common problem most people id say upgrade to 4.10's

i should just go 4.88 and 35's then it will have ***** and look cool too, lol

4.88 i think may be a little overkill those are more for 37 inch tires but hey its your truck, if it were my id try 4.56's first

are you planning on any bigger tires? cuz with that tire i dont think id wanna go much more than 4.10 or your gonna be screaming in OD and kil your fuel mileage...if you need more power maby think of puting the money into the moter insted

I havea 318 with 265x70x16 tires with4.10 gears. Love it. Rpms are about 250 more at 70mph.

Go with the 4.10's if your not moving up any tire sizes. Any higher ratio and it'll be just like Ryan said,really bad gas mileage on the highway.

Don't worry,4.10's areplenty to chirp the tires.
