Procomp All_Terrain, M.T ATZ, BFG A/T..??
Still looking for the right tire for my truck. I'd like to get rid of the 35" mud tires before winter starts here in Maine. I want a tire that is going to ride smooth, yet do great in rain, snow, ice etc. I want to stay in the same size though (35/12.5/17) because I will be running this tire year round. So far I've narrowed it to three tires. The Procomp All-Terrain, which is "severe weather" rated. The Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Radial, and the BF Goodrich A/T. I really don't care for the BF though because the pattern still looks too chunky.. Any of you guys run the Procomp All_Terrain? Feedback will be nice. I am getting new tires within the next month, so I want to make sure I'm getting the best choice for my application if I have to drop this money on tires, thanks guys!
I have had the BFG A/Ts on 3 different trucks and I loved them. The only thing I can't comment on is traction quality in the snow. I've only driven on them here in Florida and they never did me wrong. I would be running them on my truck now if they had the sizing I wanted. I'm fairly pleased however with these Dick Cepek FC-II tires so far.
Ive got 35in pro-comp a/t's on mine and so far so good, we have already had a few good dumpings of snow (i live in northern B.C Canada, we get harsh winters too) an they handled great in it, there not the best on ice tho (however i don't thing your going to find anything like it that is) i friend on mine had a said drilled and studded but there his "winter tires" he has different one to put on in the spring, ive had them on since may and they did well in the summer in mud as well as on the highway, myself I'm not a fan of the BF Goodrich A/T, and I've never tried the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Radial so i cant offer much on them
That's some good input ryan, thank you. I just want to make sure I get the right tire. I'm a little concerned that the truck is as lifted and top heavy as it is, so I want to make sure this tire is going to be safe in big winter storms and winter period. But also something I can take big highways trips with in a nice smooth ride. I def. do not want the BF, I think it looks ugly and is too blocky, just do not care for it. I also like being different lol, I hate having a tire every other truck has. I am going to do a little more research on the M.T ATZ though, but it's def. down to the PROCOMP and the ATZ from Mickey Thompson. Both offer a smooth ride yet do good in snow, rain, and offroading. Any other input will be kickass fellas, thanks again.
I am on my second set of procomps and have no problems with them. I snow plow in the winter and they seem to hook up well. I have never used either mickey thompson or bfg's so I can't compare but I am happy with the procomps.

BFGs are amazing had them on my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee and i couldnt ask for a better tire all around through all weather with being in New England too.
Id go with BFGs
Id go with BFGs
I've hadBFG ATt/a ko's on just about every truck I've owned. I got a set of those wrangler silent armors on the ram now and I hate them. They suck in the snow and mud. Hell my dakota went through damn near anything with the BFG's on it as soon as I can come up with some money I'm putting another set of BFG's on the ram
