Default Help With P1740 Tranny Code?

I was hoping to get input ona truck I am considering purchasing.

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Regular Cab that the dealer let me take home for a few days. It has 53K on it and is in really nice shape. The undercarrige looks brand new. Not a spot of rust anywhere. It is really hard to find ones this clean around here.

I started the truck on Friday and noticed the check engine was on. The dealer scanned it for me and it had the P1740 TCC or O.D solenoid Code. They cleared the code for me. I am going to change the tranny fluid and filter tonight and have look in there. On monday the dealer is going to run the diagnostic pressure tests on the tranny. I think I will also have them do the converter stall test.

The truck seems to be shifting normally to me. The code has not come back and I have driven about 70 miles since the dealer reset the code. I see there is a TSB on this.

I need to decide if I am going to keep the truck onMonday.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
