Deep Tranny Oil Pan?
The reason I asked is because this one offers a way to lower the filter.

They also seem to be the only one that says that they retain a magnet of some sort. They do it by including a magnetic drain plug. The others I have looked at do not mention that they still have the magnet. It does'nt seem like running without the magnet is a great idea.

Well,
The magnet won't stay still in an aluminum pan, which is why they make a drain plug magnet. A bouncing magnet might be far worse than the little bits o' wear that float around in there.

holey crap $275?!?!
i would think lowering the filter would be a good idea, make that oil circulate more compleatley
is adding a deeper tranny pan really necessary enough to warrant the 275 bucks tho i think id add a aux tranny cooler first

as said before, just add more fluid to the pan... what purpose would lowering the filter serve? The deeper pan means more fluid=cooler oil temps. and yeah, 275$ is rediculous.
I bought the deep pan from PML a couple of weeks ago and just got it on. It looks cool and thats about it. I mean it is DEFINITELY alot more sturdy than the stamped steel pan that comes on these things. But it suggests that youadd 2-3 extra quarts over stock of transmission fluid. I don't know if I got bad specs from the owners manual but for my application it came out to about 13 qts of tranny fluid. Well I put it in against my best wishes and my truck was running fine but smoking pretty bad. I guess the majority of it burned off because the smoking stopped just make sure you get the right specs on fluid capacity for your application. Also don't reuse the old gasket... i've seen that done before. You'll be changing that pan gasket very soon if you do.
