im considering making the switch....i have no leaks and i dont think she burns oil.i check it a cpl times a week and it seems to be stable.these were the stipulations(ive been told)before switching.
once i switch, can i switch back if i need to,or am i locked in forever and ever?

I wouldn't say they're stipulations anymore before switching over. There's a new breed of synthetics out now designed for leaky higher mileage engines.
I don't know if you're locked in forever after making the switch, but I've heard it's not encouraged to go back to regular dino oils after running a synthetic. The added price of synthetics is worth it to me. Besides decreasing engine (or tranny, rear end, T-case) wear, I've noticed a slight drop in engine temp and an increase in mileage with synthetics.
A lot of people swear by Amsoil when it comes to sythetics, but I'm a Mobile 1 man myself. It's cheaper than Amsoil, and does the job just as well in my opinion.
