so got my fourth ticket today since ive had my truck.. i think it could be five now.. anyway damn highway partolman. it was 75 in a 65 not to bad actually thats the least ive been caught with, it was going through a lil farming community on my way to school havent seen a patrolman there all semester! damnit! maybe i can get it deffered

my dad told me two tcikets ago that if i got another ticket he was gonna sell me truck.... so he cant find out

 

So you're not 18 yet and you have 5 tickets? Damn junior you better slow down. I got a buddy who got like 5 or 6 tickets by the time he was 20. Lost his liscense over it for awhile and now his insurance is like $350 a month just for one vehicle.instead of spending all this money on tickets go buy a bag of pot and slow the **** down.

Also if you take the ticket to court you will get it dropped 90% of the time and at least not get any points the other 10% of the time.

dude whats the rush! heck i remember when i was young.... (still am) but i was speedin around in my second gen all the time even when i got this i was at first... took it a lil slower... u save gas and barely take more time.... its really not worth... especially if you keep gettin caught!

 

i will be 20 in a few months. most of em have been dismissed or deffered, there is only one on my record i believe. i was just late to class this morning.

but by no stretch of the imagination is time to trade in. however i m about to get a lil gas saver, but thats a different story.

only ten overhe wouldnt ahve stopped me if the speed limit didnt drop 5 mph

 

Man, let me tell you something...

I own a 1988 bmw 325ic, a 1991 bmw 318is, and a D-2500 slt.
They've all got high performance improvements beyond the factory.
Any of those are quite capable of speeds you can't even dream about
But my insurance is 825 a year for all of them.

I don't speed, plain and simple, 5 under to 5 over is my range, I drive between those numbers.
Very easy, -5 to +5, if the speed limit is 45 that means I can drive 40 - 50, that's plenty of room.
NEVER more than 5 over, not at all, don't do it, better off stay home.

Now that took many years, age does help, it's always the old guys you see driving these things day after day.
That's because I realized it costs a thousand dollars per ticket, just ONE ticket = $1,000!
Yes it does, time in court + time off work, fine + cost, insurance increase, mpg loss, wear and tear, it all easily adds up to that, lord help you if you need an attorney.
Trust me, I know.

And that was years ago.
Here in Virginia now there's a $2000 surcharge JUST to get caught!

I don't do it no more, haven't had a ticket in dang near 10 years.
The reason I am telling you this is because at one time I lost my license.
See how that works...

It takes time, you don't go from 4 to 0 in no 6 months.
Start now and in time you'll be better off.
Take this advice for free.
Or learn the hard way like I did, you'll spend more than a few thousand on this education.
Might do some time in the ole motel, hey, you know, up to you.

i appreciate the concern guys, i know this place we are all like brothers(or sisters in a few cases)

i have thought of all this before and trust me i have slowed down alot, since i have gotten my truck. for one thing it doesnt go as fast as my old car. and the gas mileage is big factor of me going slow, my cruise control was set at 74-75 but its where the speed limit dropped that he got me. i know thats just a small factor of my problem.

i dotn want you guys to thin im some punk *** kid that doesnt care, cause i really do, and im not proud of my record.

 

You could have just about bought your lift kit with all that ticket $$

I have never had one speeding ticket. That does not mean I do not speed, I just choose where VERY carefully.

 

In my case WHEN is more important, as in never.
See now I think never it works out to once in a blue moon.
But think once in a blue moon and it happens once / week.
So, never.
