I don't have the equipment to test it right now. Here's a link to a site saying that they did test it

http://kwc.org/mythbusters/2006/12/e..._revisite.html

I'm not saying there's going to be a dramatic increase in mpg with anything you do to a ram. Their mileage sucks. I was just stating that they did test it and tonneau didn't have an improvement. I don't think under any circumstance someone should convince themselves that buying a tonneau cover or a lighter hood is going to pay itself off in fuel savings. If there was an increase it wouldn't be noticeable and would take a ton of driving to pay itself off.

I check my own search with my truck and my soft cover gave me about 1 mpg.. ok i found it all they did was tailgates ? nothing about a tonneau cover? if you have it link us with the cover
I don't have a detailed link with all the tests they did and the results, or the circumstance they did the tests under. I just know they did it, the truck they used was a dakota. Your soft cover might've given you better mileage, but it also weighs a lot less than a hard tonneau cover because it's just fabric and rails. The cover I was talkin about, and that the show tested, was a hard tonneau.

In response to everyone hating on mythbusters, they try to create the most controlled environment they can. I realize it's for entertainment, but they are the best source I have because I can't test it myself. If members have done their own tests and come up with different results, I would definitely trust them over mythbusters.
