Default RE: LIFT

Engineblock, I have a 3" lift in my 2wd. I purchased a Fabtech 3" kit that consisted of new springs and shocks in the front, and 1.5" blocks and shocks in the rear. I did have 33" tires with the factory16" wheels for awhile. The lift was fairly easy to install but rode pretty ruff. I have a really bad back and just decided it was to much when we were at the ranch. I took the springs out and purchase some 3" lifting spindles. Don't remember the brand but at the time Fabtech didn't make them. I really like the spindles becuase it allows you to retain everything else as stock. I use the factory springs and shocks now. However, using lifting spindles will mean you might have to change wheels. My factory ones didn't have enough offset and I replaced them with 18's. I also dropped back down to a 30" tire for milage reasons. It did look sharp though with those 33" BFG's on it. Fabtech makes lifting spindles now and I think they have a pretty good product. We ended up putting the fabtech springs in my sons friends 2wd Dodge but he has a huge aftermarket bumber & grillgaurd. The extra wieght was all it took to smooth out the ride. Jeff.
