quick gear question
I'm going to be upgrading to some 4.56's to handle the 35's I'm picking up. I thought about 4.10's for a while since it is mostly a DD. But I figure either one will be good and I have a chance to pick up a brand new set of 4.56's for the front D44 and match with a used set from a fellow on here for the rear 9.25.
Question is, the new set for the front I have been given the option for $140 for a set of Yukon's or $120 for American Standard Gear. Is there a $20 difference in the quality? I also found a set of gears (not sure the brand, they just say Name Brand in the description) and install kit for $190 for the front. If you were me, what would you do? Do I really need the install kit?
Also, how hard would it be if I bought the guages (about $50 I understand) for me to install myself?
BTW, the front will be a thick gear set.

RE: quick gear question
You're gonna want 4.56 for 35s. You'll also need the install kit. Not sure about doing the install though since I paid someone to do mine. Also, since you don't wheel it, it may be ok to go less expensive but, keep in mind you get what you pay for and the cheaper set may be noisy. You might get a bad whine out of them.

RE: quick gear question
i dunno im gonna go with 4.10's to go go with my 35's...ive debated a lot over 4.10 and 4.56....and i think 4.56 will be too low, ive been to a cupple diff shops and they recomended to me that if i was going to do mostley highway driving not offroadoing then to stick with 4.10....and yes you need an install kit
