hmmm Just got an e-mail from Hughes. I asked them what kind of estimate they could give me on hp increase. They said maybe 40-50. Thats 30$ a horse. I don't think it's worth the risk. I might just do bolt on instead. 1.7 rr are a lot cheaper then doing all of that ****. It would have been fun to do.
30/Horse is not so bad, your engine is only as strong as it's weakest link. Build it up right and in the end all those parts will work together to give you a little extra power.

well thats true. 30$ a horse just means I need to plan everything out very well so that when I stroke itnone of the parts are wasted.

Wahoo the hypertech will be here tomarrow along with the timing chain and plenum plate. I just ordered the longtubes. I've also picked up the rocker panels and will be installing them on Saturday. Man it's starting to get fun know that parts are showing up. I'm still hesitant on the heads. I'm thinking of getting the heads and doing 1.7 RR instead of a cam. Decisions Decisions. If I can get the wife to back down I'll be ordering the lift soon. So much to buy so little time. You guys were right though I should have sprung for the SCT tuner and not the hypertech. Oh well I'll get all of the work done and then sell the hypertech and buy the SCT.

Next weekend I'm going to clean the rust off of the grill guard and install Timing Chanin, Plenum Kit, modify the kegger, and Service the Tranny. I did install the hypertech and I'm not that impressed with it. Maybe after I open the exhaust and intake it will be more impressive.

Was reading this and thought of youThink this might help with the cam selection.

However, the later Magnum heads also feature closed chambers, and with their 1.92/1.625-inch valve combination, these heads do have the flow to support 400 hp in the right combination.

With the higher 1.6:1 ratio of the Magnum engine, it doesn't take a huge cam to use up all the available clearance. We selected a Competition Cams 280H Magnum camshaft, which is a single-pattern grind featuring 280 degrees of rated duration and 230 degrees of duration at .050-inch tappet rise. This cam is advertised as having .480-inch lift, but with the higher-ratio Magnum valvetrain, theoretical lift goes up to .512-inch. It seemed like the ideal cam for our combo. We liked the single-pattern profile as a compliment to the Magnum heads' good exhaust flow ratio, and that the cam was maxing out the lift potential of the out-of-the-box Magnum heads.

This came from an article in Mopar Muscle

If you give me a sec I wouldv'e updated sheesh. Just kidding. Yesterday I pulled the whole damn engine apart. That took alot of work. I replaced the plenum and changed the timing chain. Unfortanetly I ran out of time and was unable to mode the kegger. Altough I can probably get it off alot faster now and so I might do it later. Suprisingly everything went really well. No leaks have developed and other then trying to burp the cooling system everything is back together. OH yea I forgot to put a bolt in it was just hanging under the idler pulley so when we went to start the truck it bent the pulley really bad duohh. All in all I'm very happy with the whole thing. I took it out for a drive last night and got pretty nice gains. I can break the tires loose from dead stop now. I would definetly recommend advancing the timing by 4 on the cam. I'm going to try and run the hypertech on 93 and see if I can get away with using regular gas now that the plenum is fixed. Keep your fingers crossed. Oh next weekend I'll be installing the headers and dual exhuast system. I'll have more pictures then. Sorry that I don't have any now my helper was in such a hurry that I couldn't snap any
