Hey, I know this is a stupid question but I figured I'd ask.. So I was driving tonight and it was a little wet out.. So I decided to try and spin my tires goin around a corner. So I proceded to take it out of O/D and put it down into first. Anyway, I punched it going around the corner and ended up hitting the rev limiter, which was like 5200 rpm I think, once or twice within a couple seconds.I can honestly say this is the first time I've redlined it and I was just wondering if that's really hard on the engine or if it's ok... The truck is a 1998 1500 w/ the 360 and only 41,000 miles.. I just feel that I've somehow injured it... lol...
Thanks

DOes the truck feel physically injurede? Or do you just 'feel' like you injured something? It's not the best idea to bounce off the limiter all the time, but that what it's for: to limit the revs, so yo don't really damage your motor. I've done it pretty hard a few times, and mines still fine...

its not the brightest idea to hit it just because it limits it doesnt mean it wont hurt anything say you have a loud system you can actually make your knock sensor think there is a knock in the motor and try to retared your timing and you hit rev limit at 5200 rpms you can throw a rod through your block buddy did that on his 97 dodge had 4 12inch punch 2 subs blew that rod clear outta the block not the greatest of nights weve had
