Default headlight failure

tonight the headlights on my 95 dodge ram quit working
high and low beam quit. all the rest of the lights work and the factory fog lights work yet but before they quit the fog lights only worked on low beam and now they stay on unless i shut them off. my question would be do you think its the multifuction (turnsignal/dimmer) switch or the headlight switch or even in the foglight switch its self?
I hate to just tossin parts at it to see what fixes it
I will check the wires in the column tomorrow because that seems to have been an issue also
any input would be gladly accepted
Thanks

did u check your fuses, relays, and grounds behind the headlights? that's where id start....then the switches, the pull stile on the dash, then the dimmer switch

yea all the fuses were good and I pulled the cover off the steering wheel and the wires all looked good there so I pulled the guage bezel off and took out the headlight switch and one wire on the plug is melted abit wiggled the plug and they work now so i am ordering a headlight switch connector from NAPA monday. hopefully that fixes it foever
