Ok, i'm not real sure what this is. I'm pretty sure its a seal. Can you guys let me know what you think and about how much repairs would be. Any other problems you may see then let me know too.

The top thing:
It's a tie rod end. You can get a replacement boot for them for some brands, but you have to do almost as much work as just changing it. I would just change it, and look at the other side and the one on the drag link that attaches to your pitman arm as they are probably all the same age.

Try www.rockauto.com for a good on line source, or just hit up your local NAPA.

As for the moisture on your inner "C", you are correct, that is the axle seal. It is located inside the CAD housing and is a pretty involved repair. Nothing is hard, but you have to take off quite a bit of stuff to get it out and install the new one. Do a search for passenger axle seal, I had a write up on it a while back. Or if you are not interested in doing it yourself, be preparred to pay $400 or so to have a shop replace it

Thanks for the info. I'll prolly just replace the seal and the tie rod ends at the same time since i'll be in that area of the truck.I did a seach like you suggested and found out thats its a pretty heavy job. Not real hard just requires time and alot of cleaning and what not. Thanks for the info again. Will it hurt for me not to replace it RIGHT AWAY. As long as I don't use 4 wheel because i'm waiting on my next pay check to do all of this.

it will not hurt to wait, PROVIDED that you keep the front differential full of oil. and it really doesn't make any difference whether you use the 4wd or not, as the axles and spider gears are always turning, even while in 2wd. so they must have oil.

its a big job... and the wheels brgs can be a bitch to get off, and often split. and new ones are $200 or so per side.

Not to mention that you will have to create a tool to "pull" the seal into place. It is a very big job, but providing you can get your hub bearings off in one peice, that is the hardest part.

Thanks for all of the info guys. Either way the cost of it being repaired is gonna be a little bit and i've never really did much work on axles or front ends to say the least. So i'd rather pay the cost and learn something out of it all rather than just paying for it and hoping someone does a good job. I know if I do it then it'll get done good even if I've never done it before. I'm not back home so I don't really trust any shops up here. Thanks for all the info and DIY links. Happy Holidays and good 4-wheelin to ya all.

Well hopefully I won't either. It'd be that much less money to spend. May the truck Gods be with me.
