turn my heater/defroster on and noticed a smell of coolant.. but havnt noticed any coolant puddels on the floor boards.. pinhole leak in the core?

 

Are you seeing any residue on the inside of your windshield? When mine went bad with a pinhole it put a film on the windshield that was a pain to clean. Just because you smell coolant does not necessarily mean it’s the heater core, though it could be. If you had a leak in the engine compartment and it got hot enough to vaporize it would be possible to smell that inside the cab.

 

actually there is a wierd film on my windshield... and it tastes funny too

yah sounds like the heater core....almost bet it is auchually

 

somehow i think i might have the same problem. i smelled coolant today to i just hope it not it, im done with problems[:@]
