2001-2002 Ram 2400 QC SB
I know that this may have been posted before but I am new here and I dont know all of the rules yet and to be honest with you guys I may be in a little bit of a hurry.
What I think I want to buy is about an '01-'02 Ram 2500 with the 5.9L in it. What I want to know is stock, whats the best gas mileage I can get out of it and what kinds of performance upgrades should I do to get better?
BTW, I WILL be running 33" BFG mudders as soon as I can get them on so any suggestions about gearing or mods would be appresiated.
But, the think that may save it or break me from buying one will be the gas mileage. And, I would not buy a 2WD truck. I NEED a 4x4. So, any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

So, nobody has anything to say about my question? I'd really like to know and I have searched but I cant tailor the searches to what I'd like to know.

Obviously a regular cab may yeild better mileage than a quad cab. Next try to lose as much unnecessary weight as you can stand to part with. Spare tire and it's holder and the Air conditioner system are good ways to start. If you can get it with a 5 speed you can probably do a little better on gas. With all the mods in the world I woulnd't expect to get more than 14 to 15 mpg with that truck. That's what I get with my 1500 RCSB and it weighs significantly less.
im sure these 2 threads will answer all your MPG questions...and more
