I plan on running 35s or 36s eventually which is why I don't really want to lock my dana 44 anyway. I think the 9.25 will hold up okay though. I'm gonna try the No-slip for now. I have to regear before I get bigger tires anyway so that will be my opportunity to put a detroit in then if I don't feel like the powertrax will hold up.

Thanks for the info and the websites guys. By all means keep it coming. I've been trying to learn as much as I can in a shorter amount of time than i'm happy about.

Replaces the spider gears in an open differential. Forces both wheels to spin at the same time. If you've ever had one tire off the ground you know it's the only one that spins. Lockers make both wheels spin. Makes for much better offroad traction. Locking the front and back axels for true 4 wheel drive makes you pretty much unstopable given you have decent ground clearance and appropriate sized tires. However locking the front axel isn't real popular with daily drivers because it has a tendancy to act up on the street. Especially in our trucks because we don't have lockout hubs.

i had a powertrax locker in my 93 318 dakota for over 60,000 miles and never had a problem with it. i abused that sonofabitch every day and it never let me down. it let me go places in 2wd that other times had given my 4wd a workout. i mean burnouts, powerslides, heavy duty off road use, went to the track with it, etc...never even a doubt that it would let me down.

as soon as tax return season comes around again, i'll be buying a powertrax unit for both my ram and durango.
