Default V10 running like a 4 banger

As many of you know i have the V10 in my truck. Well lately i have been having a problem with the crank pulley bolt backing out and that coming out. Usually it comes out about a 1/2 inch within 20 miles. But i think i'm starting to get that problem under control. Here is the thing, Prior to this the truck ran ok but not great, seemed to have a slight miss and all that. Well the first time i put the pulley/balancer back in the truck ran like brand new. Now well it seems to have the power of a V2! It runs like doo doo, pops misses and well sounds like its choked out. I am about at wits ends with this truck and the only local mechanic i trust besides me wont touch it due to the V10, hes not very knowledgeable about it, atleast he didn't lie. I think i would be better off with a 2.0 inline 4 in it, or atleast it would seem like it would have more power. Well keep in mind with the crank pulley/balancer coming out it was chewing up the belt and pieces of it was flying around. It's a 95 and no CEL has come on. If anyone has any thoughts please please foward them my way. I love my dodge but i'm about at the end of my loyabilty on it. Thanks guys.

The only thing I can think of from similar symptoms was a bad cat, truck ran like ****, missed and all that until the cat was changed, now I'm not a mechanic but could the crank pully be pushed out from the clogged pressure from the exhaust not escaping through the clogged cat??

Yeah i have no cats and straight pipes. I think i got that bugger to finally stay put but now, holy moly i think its running on 3 cylinders. I mean i floored it to leave a light and i got passed by a turtle. it shakes and pops and well sounds like it has a carb on it and i'm running full choke. Also i have a homemade CAI on it. It start off slowly on running like crap and ever since this it like leaped into running like trash. Thank you for responding your thoughts. Much appricated!

You're gonna have to do some testing on your own. All we can do is suggest where to look. As Aim stated, test fuel delivery/pressure, etc. Move on to spark, wires, coil, distrib...
Next would be a compression check. Followed by a vacuum test.

Do all of these even if you find your problem with one of them. Check also the elec. system for bad grounds, connections, full voltage.

Do you have the proper tools/test equipment? Manuals?

Is there anything you're NOT telling us? It's like a computer...what were you doing just before it screwed up? What have you done to it lately? And not just mechanical; off roading? Rock climbing? Bungie jumping...you get the idea.
And don't discount a bad tank of gas...winter fuel, water...

there is a thread here about a blocked vacuum line, maybe more then one and leaking egr valves, both sound like the culprits, mine's been running like a 6 banger sinceI had it but it's too cold, now it's stalling too

Well i did alil work on my own today. I tested the fuel for both pressure and volume and it seemed to check out great. Prior to this i put new plugs and wires on it. (champion and mopar wires) making sure not to route number 5 and 7 by eachother. I had three quarters a tank of gas and then toped it off but it was a day or 2 before it started this nonsence at the same pump/station as normal, i'm picky like that. The only thing i really havent checked was for vacuum for blocks or leaks. I was looking into MAP sensors today and from what i read alot of what is going on is what it says when one is faulty. Any ideas on that? Most anything else i worked on had Carbs and limited electronics. Thats why i said the best way i can describe the way it runs is like its choked out, but likei said i got straight pipes equivant to stock size without cats and a homemade cold air kit(i was bored) but it ran great for 3 or 4 months in this configuration. I guess the stand point i'm at is vaccumm problems or maybe MAP sensor or something like that. Also the belt was flying around under the hood but everything seems intact. Oh it also shakes pretty violently which i figured you woulda guessed. Thats pretty much where i'm at. also i have no manuals. Oh and i was on my way to work normal city driving when the performance went southward.

Do a leakdown test and/or a compression test.

Well i did a compression test and all ten cylinders are around 155 to 160 and with the leak down test it just showed normal 130k wear and tear, very min. How do i check for plugged vaccum lines and all that? The other thing i still have been thinkin is perhaps the MAP sensor or something along them lines, any thoughts on that? Thanks to the ones that have gave me thier ideas.
