Default NADA values--WTF people use the NADA?

OK......so in another forum guys are listing their dodges using NADA values....just wondering do people in the midwest/east actually list and sell cars based off NADA values? NADA is retail/banking not private party selling! People here in CA laught their asses off at NADA values. They are inflated by about 3k and have limted options vs. KBB (thats Kelly Blue Book--kbb.com).

Any thoughts? Are people who don't live in CA that retarded?

black book has been around for 50 years its a hearst media company ---another retail value guide for dealers--not private party value. Its comaparable to the NADA, but is mainly used as a tool for trade in values at dealers--they sell software to car dealers as well.

NADA is actually more accurate than KBB. Hell, people talk all kinds of BS that they checked out the Kelly Blue Book value and are "armed" to do battle with the dealer. Too bad for them that the dealers have never paid attention to KBB.

I'm not talking about dealing with a dealer---NADA is fine for dealer pricing---I'm talking about Private Party Used Vehicles----NADA is not appropriate for private party pricing that's all I am saying.

I don't see why not. NADA will give you both private party and dealer pricing and is very accurate as it tailors to each region. I am currently prepping my Cavalier for sale and the NADA pricing is very much in line with the local market.
