I have 140,000 miles on mine and had a valve go out too, but it was still under the extended warranty from when Ibought it. It runs strong as ever and would not trade it for anything.
i got 139000 on mine and the only thing i had problems with was the intake gasket and that was it and the valve covers leaking which i fixed...if this motor ever did **** up on me which it would never do...i would rebuild it the way i want it done and put it back it...i would own a hemi or even put a hemi in my 2000 ram
I have 191,532!! It still purrs like a kitten. No rebuild, no tranny work, stock exhaust (which I hope fails soon so I can make it rumble). Purchased new 12 years ago. Original waterpump made it 9years. Changed the plugs, cap, rotar, wiresfirst and only time at 127,000 miles.
When it hits 200k I am doing it again. Just because.
mine had 173k on it and it blew up. kid that had it before me didnt take care of it though. so now its got a new one with 80k on it and it runs like a champ.
My 1997 5.9 has 178,000 and runs great .... but it does have a Jasper sticker under the hood ... so I think I might want to look into that. I bought it that way with 152,000 on italmost 3years ago .... havent had any major problems at all. Just a couple tune ups, oil changes, and those damn exhaust manifolds have to keep getting tightened every 6 months or so ....
