Default Anyone here use the Prestone Flush/Fill kit?

I was going to buy one and new coolant and the flush fluid, but wasn't too sure if it was a gimmick or if it really works. if it does, anyone have pictures or a description of the best way to use it?

I used to use that years and years ago, when everybody flushed their Prestone in the driveway, let it run into the street and then into the storm drain. These days we're a little more environmentally conscious, so I don't do that anymore. It worked really good, problem is there's really no way to catch that stuff as it spews out your radiator.

Go to Jiffy Lube (or whatever) and pay 'em $50 to flush it. Works as good and you don't have to worry about clean up.

Idk what the kit is, but what I do to flush my cooling system is I take off the bottom hose and let it drain, then I put it back on, and pop off the top hose and let that hang. Then I take my garden hose and put it in the radiator in the upper return and turn it on. Then I let the truck run and wait for the water thats comming out to be clear as when it went in.

I was thinking it might be better for a shop to do it, but when i change out my water pump i figured i'd flush it out. Does it work alright to swap out the pump, and then get it flushed or would that make it difficult in any way? I know I sound dumb, but 400 dollars for a water pump/thermo and flush seemed like a lot, so idk if there's something special about it all.
