Default 95 dodge ram tranny leak

leak where the tranny and motor meet, the pan is wet, would this be a sign of torque converter going or a seal going? it leaks about a 4x6 puddle overnight on a dry floor. fliud is not 100% red, it was rebuilt last year, put around 16k on since the rebuild.

is it red or brown/black like engine oil?
if red/brown tranny fluid - front pump oil seal in transmission,
if engine oil - rear main crankshaft seal.

red brown thank god it is not black!

should we flush the stystem or should we just replace the tranny fluid? you think for sure that it is not the torque converter?

there is a seal where the converter slides into the front of the tranny, (front pump oil seal) cannot repair it unless you remove tranny... so unless you want to remove trany, just make sure you keep fluid level correct.

Proper way to check fluid level- truck on flat surface, truck running, put tranny in Neutral, then check fluid level.

Converters themselves dont leak unless you actually drill a hole in them, the seals where they slide into do/can leak.

others are also talking about pump being bad as well as bearing being out. they are saying that a seal just does not go bad
