I saw top end improvement, but it is hard to say in my case what caused it since I followed my TB mod with an exahust mod a week or two later. Most exhaust mods (going bigger or more free flowing) result in top end results, which is what I saw.

The best seat of the pants difference I have noticed so far was from the 1.7 rockers.

BUT!!!... by the time I put the rockers in I had already put full exhaust, CAI, Fastman T-Body, E-fan.... so it is possible that the rockes just put a nice touch on everything else. The T-body was the first or second mod I did.

When I put the T-Body on I noticed a little performance gain... not as much as everyone else on this forum. But thats just me.

The cost and the install time made it worth it in my mind. I would recommend it to anyone.

Don't expect 12sec. quarters though.

I couldn't disagree more. The Fastman TB was one of the best performance mods I have done. Really improved throttle response. Very noticable mod. I installed mine the same week that I did a new muffler, and the combination yielded a solid 2 mpg increase. Do a search, you'll see my thread on it from way back. Others have reported good mpg gains too.

It is the TB spacers that are worthless.
I would have to agree withthe increasedthrottle responce. There was a definate noticable diffrence there. I may be a little fuzzy because I did mine almost a year ago, but as far as I remember there was very little diffrence in performance otherwise.

wow you got a mpg increase by switching to a bigger TB? hows that work? bigger TB = more fuel flowing right? or am i completley wrong about that?
Yes and no. Your probabily thinking about carbs. Larger carbs=more fuel. With mpi with speed density it does almost work the same way, except the computer is using a throttle body constant of 48.8 or whatever stock size was, so by moving to a 51.75 (52) it just adds more air, leaning out the a/f. Its just like the people with mafs using a larger maf and throttle body without adjusting the computer.

I would have to say going with full roller alum. rockers would be the way to go. That is something that will increase mpg, as the motor needs to work less to combat the weight of the stock stamped steel rockers. I really think the debate btwn 1.7 and 1.6 is a moot point. Stock heads dont really flow much better btwn .4 and .5 lift, and by going from 480 to 510, you are maybe looking at 2-4 cfm. As far as price is concerned...its about the same price. (I personally would get the stud adapter kit (100) and then just use some chevy rockers that are much cheeper than the ones we use for the 5/16 bolt.

Yea you will, but I mean its not gonna be a world of diffrence. After a while you will forget about it anyways. My truck feels so slow anymore . I guess iv been being spoiled by high hp cars recently.

5 to 7 hp gains seem to come from ported throttle bodies
or simply the bigger Holley throttle body
and the MAP sensor readings before and after
seem to pretty much match those hp power gains.

In the $ per hp comparison
it might be that the MPI intake manifold
could be better value
or that the two mods should be done together.
