When Did You First Love Rams?
When the 94 came out. My dad had a 77 (3 on the tree slant 6) and an 80. The 80 was built very light. When the 94's came out I spent a year talking to my wife about it. We got the first year they came out with a extended cab (95) She let me pick out theengine and she picked out the color. I still love it and drive it everyday. It has never given me problems outside of normal mechanical. 191k and 12 years later. It has never left us stranded on the side of the road.
When second gen came out.I liked it. When I bought my 96 in 2000, I loved it. I was starting to take it for granted, then I let my son drive it at college until it stopped running. went without her for two months. went to fix her (replaced cam shaft position sensor). Now we're back together again and happy. My dog loves the truck too. can't wait to get in and go to the park. (dog rides in cab)

That's funny... Cause my story is just about the same. Feel in love with the truck in that movie, and then got to ride in a brand new 1996 1500 extended cab short bed shortly after watching that movie. I was 10, and I feel in love. Ever since that day I swore I would own a 2ed gen.
And I now have a 1996 Regular cab Long bed, and I love every day I get to drive it.
Next up - 08 3500 Cummin's.
I've also owned an 87 W-150, and a 91 RamCharger. Those my friend, however crappy the exterior design, were f*ing trucks. Took a serious beating and ALWAYS survived.

I first fell in love with the Rams back in 94. After seeing pics of the prototype Dodge Ram VTS Viper truck with 8.0L motor and 450hp/450trq I had to have one. Drooled over them for the next 2yrs till the 96 Indy came out and I got one as soon as they hit the lots.
i fell in love with them when i was walking around the main strip at a local cruise night. there was the ricers, the muscle cars and a few HUGE trucks parked at the end i went over to look at them and i fell in love with the ram(2nd gen)that was lookin down on all the fords
my dads buddy at work was getting rid of his ramand thats how i got mine

ALways been a Dodge boy. Dad brought me home from being born in a '63 Dodge flatbed, think it had the 318, and it was 3 speed. Been ridin' in them all my life, as well as 'borrowing' them from my dad when he was gone. Only seemed natural that I'd have to have one. Been wanting a big blue Mopar M tatooed on my belly since I was 10 :P
I've pretty much been a Dodge/Mopar guy all my life. My dad always had dodge or plymouth cars & trucks. My first nice truck was a 78 dodge with a 440 4bbl, it was a kick *** truck and I wish I still had it (at least the engine). My next favorite was my dad's 79 ramcharger, then my 1980 ram pickup, then my 83 ramcharger (had it for 9 yrs), then my 2 dakota's, them my 99 that I still drive. I will probably wait for the 09's to see if they really put a V8 Diesel in a half ton. If not, then I will be getting a 3/4 with the cummins and I"m hoping that will be my last vehicle. I did have a 66 chevy (first vehicle ever) and a 78 GMC. Really liked the 66, it was all steel and we had a blast in it. The 78 looked really good but sucked when it started getting 8mpg. That was it for chevy's. Been Dodge ever since for me.
gotta say twister movie those chevs had no chance i always wondered what the truck would look like after it came out that tornado(no disrespect to anyone or dodge) then when i seen how they looked (amazing) i got mine about 4 months ago from my grandfather who was converted to dodge after having bad luck with chevys
I'd have to agree, after seeing twister, it sold me on the 2nd gen dodge. So i was so happy when I bought my 96 a few years ago. I just traded it off and it was a hard thing to do but i I'm happy with the new truck.
I'm a motorcycle dude who needed a truck fast. I was looking at the Chevy pickups. I came across a Dodge Ram 1500 2001 5.2 W/8 foot bed, Quad cab. Well I bought the big Red Rammer. No regrets and still growing on me.
I almost never drive during the summer, always on the bike. It will hurt to leave El Rojo in the driveway while I'm out rolling. However when it rains I'll be rollinginmy new Red friend.
