When Did You First Love Rams?
I thought itd be cool to find out when people first fell in love with Rams?
My first time was when i was around 7 when the movie Twister Came out and the 96 2500 club cab was in it. I thought it was so cool how it went through house and everything. Funny thing is now im 18 and I still love the movie Twister and I now own a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab haha.
So I would just like to know about other peoples
Thanks

eary 80's... picked up a 1976 club cab power wagon with a 440. bitchin truck. when the 2nd gen rams came out I hated them. thought they looked stupid. after a few years they grew on me and then I had to have one. now with the 2005... probably will take it to the grave with me... lol
Same here. I really disliked the 3rd Gen when it came out, but it has grown on me. I'd buy one now.
I started liking Rams though in '94 when the 2nd Gen came out. I just thought it looked so tough. It wasn't until 2002 or so that I bought my first one though (my current '99). It was a toss up between a Ram 1500 and a Ford F-150. Had the price of things been different, i'd probably be driving a Ford right now instead. But the Ram was cheaper, so that's what I bought.

I could see myself picking up a 2002 CTD 6 spd QC 4x4... I think, those are the ones that get in the mid 20's for fuel economy. It just amazes me that the truck is so damn big & heavy & can still get 20's. the best to date out of mine has been 19.0 mpg.... driving worse than an old man.
Maybe you should consider that new '09 coming out. Then you could have a revised/supposedly improved CTD, be a little more aerodynamic, and be steve09ram360.
BTW if you would have stroked out that '00 gasser, would you have been steve00ram408?

when i scraped my ford and got the dodge, i pulled up to buy it and flipped out at how mean it looked. love ever since.
i still dont really care for the 3rd gens... except my buddies 05 3500 ctd with a monsterious lift, thats a beast.

My ideal truck is a first half of the year '98 2500 12v Cummins Turbo Diesel, quad cab, 6ft bed, 4x4, 5sp. This is the first year of the quad cab (opening 3rd door), and the last year of the 12v Cummins (only available the first half of '98). Otherwise, if I was going to go with a 24v Cummins, anything from '99 through present would be fine with me. Probably lean toward a 3rd Gen in this case due to the larger size of the extra cab and full size doors (better for the family), and quieter more powerful Cummins. I would also seriously consider a '04-current Power Wagon, but wish it had a diesel option.
I instantly LOVED the 2nd gen Rams when I saw some of the preliminary pics ina Chrysler dealer only publication. (approx 92 I think)
Previous I would never even consider owning a 1st gen ram (ugly) I was a strictly Ford truck guy and took a lot of shots working at a dodge dealer. The mid 80's gm trucks are boring and also ugly (IMHO)
The (new) ram was for me instantly and I generally don't like new models right away.
I've had my 2nd gen far longer than any other truck and it will be hard to part with when the time comes. I still think the style looks current not dated.
