i dont hate it, it just aint givin me the gains i thought it would, plus it gets filthy when i take the truck in the mud and the filter sucked some mud through the intake pipe. Plus im in the engine dress up mode, i want mine to look like fox faders and silvers engines with the black mopar valve covers and air cleaner. With the winter here it seems like the round air cleaner will take in a butt load more air and alot cooler than the cai will right now.

20dodgeneon - Make your own then with the money left over buy the fastman.

Last night I flushed my heatercore and while I was doing that I removerd the entire air hat. Well I forgot to put it back on after I was done and I went driving around to try and work out the air bubbles. Wow I never new what a differnce the intake had. The truck was louder and had a ton more pickup to it. I almost wish that I didn't hae to put it back on but, I want the engine to last awhile longer and the sucking noise is annoying.

I think you guys are right, and it's worth a shot on the airhat. Where can I buy the assembly for a MOPAR airhat? I want it to look really classy and shiny. And at some point, like motorbreath said, I'd like to get some nice MAGNUM valve covers, I think that'd look really sharp in there. I can already picture it now, opening the hood and seeing this sexy looking shiny mopar airhat that dubs into a fastman throttle body. Then you'd see the magnum valve covers, and below them, these shiny giant longtube headers connected to the block. Ah I'm getting ahead of myself here lmao. Anyway, where can I find the complete assembly for that airhat? You guys sure this is a better choice than a CAI KIT? Also, how much am I looking at to buy this, thanks!!

Here's how mine looks. Foxfader's got the same setup too. What you ought to do is get the Mopar kit, and have it media blasted and then cromed. Then get the valve covers that look just like mine, but get the crome version instead (not sure the part number, but Mopar makes them). You would have a different looking setup then Fox and I, and it would be shiney like you stated. Or, you could get it all powdercoated to whatever color you like. Honestly though, since your truck is black, I think the black powdercoating like this would still look good.

Man if my truck didn't already come with the K&N intake on it then I would definitely do a setup like Silver_Dodge's. I think it looks great and I really need to get some of those valve covers too; it really cleans up the look of theengine. However, the K&N seems to work good for me. It gives plenty of power and makes some pretty good noise sucking in the air. I'd say going with one of those or a setup like Silver_Dodge's would definitely make you happy.

I too followed in Silver Dodges footsteps on this. Only I went down to the local auto zone and got a 14" diameter chrome Edelbrock air cleaner. cost me about $40 bucks total for the air cleaner, valve cover breather, spacer kit, and all thread to make the s-bolt and took me about a half an hour to install. Man what a difference! it sounds better and definitely feels like it has more power. can't say anything regarding mileage gains yet as I've only run one tank thru it so far
