Default New steering box

I want to fix my sloppy 4X4 steering gearbox with a new one. Are there any corrected boxes out there( as in hardened gears, etc.)to last longer?

I'm also looking into a borgerson steering shaft. Any experience on these? And are power steering pumps the same no matter the manufacturer?

I have a Borgeson shaft. You won't really notice anything steering wise. One thing though, you need to use thread lock on the set screw and nut otherwise it will constantly come lose and you'll feel really sloppy steering.

I went through 4 steering boxes in 2 years on my 2500 4x4 Diesel. I put on a steering stabilzer bracket from PSC Motor Sports and that seems to have cured my steering box woes. If you use one of their brackets along with one of their steering boxes, I think they will warranty it for lifetime. I'm not sure if they still offer this. I saw it on their web page at one time.

Yes, I tried to tighten it, but all it did was make it impossible to turn the wheel. My mechanic thinks big tires did it, thus my need for a heavy-duty one. I am looking toward a steering stabilizer, so that may help....
