Default Programming RKE after battery replacement

When I bought my 1500 used 4 years ago, it had one RKE key fob. Recently, I replaced the batteries in it. The key fob does not work now. I believe it needs to reprogrammed. I have found instructions to reprogram additional remotes, but I don't have any. I need to know how to program the primary one. How do I do that?
