I've been running Skyjacker on my Blazer for 6 years, and had a Jeep with a Skyjacker system, and liked both of them very much. My old Bronco had a Trailmaster kit and it rode great. Never offroaded it too much. I've had a couple Chevys and a Jeep with Superlift kits and hated them. Rode like hell, kept bending springs. Haven't dealt with any Ram lift kits yet. Overall I like Skyjacker's products more than any other company.

I've been told that Skyjacker makes the most complete kits for the 2nd gen Rams.

I've never done a lift, but am thinking about it. How much would this Skyjacker kit run? Is it difficult to install yourself (i.e.are any special tools needed)?

Thanks.

Had the Skyjacker 3" lift installed on my 95 Ram 4x4 in 1996 and have had no problems at all. One suggestion is to install a drop down pitman arm so your stabilizer isn't on a weird angle.

The kits are a good weekend project if you're mechanically inclined. Just need good sockets, a good impact wrench helps (I've got a 650 ft-lb Ingersol-Rand), might need a drill. You can usually get away with just basic hand tools. I know this is against the whole man thing, but FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY! It's a suspension system. You screw something up you can die.

ALWAYS put matched steering correction in (IE pitman arm). The drag link and the track bar have to be in the same plane at the same angle or they with fight each other and bind. Simple vector mechanics. Very much bad things result from mismatched parts on a multilink suspension.

I've got a 5-inch skyjacker suspension lift on my 99 4x4 and I love it. It rides just as good as stock and there is very little body roll. It took me a full day to install with a car lift so i would count on a day and a half or two without a car lift. The system came with everything i needed including all new mounting bolts. The the hardest part by far was changing the rear leaf springs because it is nearly impossible to get to the mounting bolts and also you have to unstrap the gas tank and slide it over so its a good idea to not fill up your tank beforehand. Other than that, the installation was pretty straight forward and the skyjacker guys are really helpful.

5.5" Rancho lift. Seems to do the job and looks like the right height. Perfect wheel well spacing with 35" BF Goodwrich
