Jet Chips are a piggy back so you would have to leave them on. Hypertech and Superchip are both reprogrammers. With the reprogamers after you reprogram the computer the unit isn't good for anything until you take the programming off.
Right, thats what I was saying, after your flash it then what? What are these people doing with them afterwards?
I looked on eBay and only found one used there.
odd...

Here's the problem: these trucks weigh 6000 pounds. It's a big truck, not a car. Mass kills acceleration. You want faster acceleration, it'll take more horsepower or less mass. Get a sports car if you want acceleration that will snap your neck. Use the truck to haul it.

Also, the dealer's computer flash isn't helping. It pulled out a lot of timing to remedy the symptoms of the plenum leak, but doesn't fix the problem. It just makes the truck slower than it used to be.

8 seconds to 60 is way fast for one of these beasts. You should be happy if it's under 10.

I agree, these trucks are VERY heavy. But that's why I'm curious as to why my truck is running below 8 right now, and she is essntially..STOCK. It has 4.10 gearing because its the off-road package, but it has 35" tires to somewhat devalue that. At the time I clocked it, it only had a catback exhaust system w/ a gutted cat. And I agree, under 8 seems extremely quick to me for a lifted heavy truck, and she is pretty much stock like I said before..hmm

I dont know what my exact 0-60 time is, I cant get a acurate reading, becasue forsome reason my speedo isnt the fastest reacting thing. If I time it, its about 9 sec... but I know its not right because if I let off the gas it will continue to climb for 5 mph or so... So if I had to guess I would say around 8 sec.

If anyone knows how fast a 2004 grand prix with a 3.8 is, thats identical to my truck... I raced one the other day... its my frineds and it was a fair race. Grand prix had 2 people in it, my truck had 3. In the race, he got the jump (do to my bad traction) and then I evened it up and it stayed even untill about 85-90 where he inched away VERY slowly.

Does anyone know what these cars run 0-60? it would be kind of interesting... I belive it was a 2004 not 100% but it was the new style of grand prix, and im 100% it had the new 3.8 in it.

I don't need my truck to go fast. See that perty blue and silver beast in my sig? one word, Hayabusa. maybe this pic will illuminate why i don't care how fast my truck goes. I have the bike for my fast moods
